UPDATE – Raptor 8K Drone is currently sold out in retail stores nationwide. However, they may still be available on their website HERE.
I’ve been flying drones for 5 years and had the privilege to fly an Alta 8 drone (used in Hollywood to mount cameras and equipment up to 15 pounds) so I have experienced everything from the cheapest junk to state-of-the-art film tech.
My friends have been asking me for recommendations on a good drone. But when I tell them that there aren’t any good drones under $1000, or at least $800, they think I’m crazy.
I thought I could prove my point with this review, but I must happily admit, I was wrong!
The Raptor 8K Drone is a high-performing drone with a lot of camera features that will satisfy both professional and new pilots.
When I got the Raptor 8K Drone delivered to my door 2 days after ordering it, I hadn’t even seen the actual drone yet but was immediately impressed with the delivery process. Little did I know that it would only get better!
When I opened the package and saw the high-quality material shine back at my face I actually had to confirm it was the right drone. My assignment was to review drones under $200, and this looked more like one of the $800-$1000 drones I’ve bought for myself through the years.
This looks very much like a professional racing drone.
The reason why I’ve been warning my friends about “cheap drones” is because they aren’t built for precision flight and especially not to last, but most of all, they lose signal after as little as 150 feet.
The game changer was on the box it came in, it was written on the side with humble letters: 4 km transmission distance. Wait, what? That’s 2.5 miles! If this is true, then this drone is on par with my most expensive drones.
I lost track of it before it even got that far, so it’s definitely more than you need.
The joysticks give a slight resistance that’s pleasant and increases precision, and the classic game controller design works great with its foldable antennas and retractable phone holder.
And just to prove my point of how convenient the Raptor 8K Drone is to fly, you don’t even need to bring the control pad with you as you can download an app to steer the Raptor 8K Drone from your phone! Allowing you to see what the drone sees and steer it as if you’re in the cockpit.
And the list goes on automatic takeoff and landing with the press of a single button, Smart gravity sensor, automatic roll och flip maneuvers, It’s simply amazing!
The Raptor 8K Drone is just as good as any of my high-tier drones. The only difference are some advanced rolling maneuvers that aren’t necessary until you start flying with a headset display.
Three things matter the most in a drone; transmission distance, the drone’s response to the controls, and the camera quality.
From what I could see on the specs, Raptor 8K Drone’s HD camera would be more than I dared to expect.
Especially with the in-built features like pre-programmed 360 camera moves, boomerang аnd the аѕtеrоіd, slow motion recording, insane Camera HD quality, and 12-megapixel photos.
I gave it a good session on the beach, and I had so much fun!
The features are so user-friendly that even a tесhnісаl nеwbіе can hаvе рrоfеѕѕіоnаl-ԛuаlіtу footage at the сlісk оf a button.
It’s just so cool to zoom by a surfer on the beach and see it in slow motion!
I really did wonder if this was the right drone for $99 and not something much more expensive. Just look at this picture I got, it’s insane!
Even though this is a technical marvel of a drone, it’s completely beginner friendly.
I believe the company understands the value of being able to let friends try your drone without stressing out. After all, we want to share the fun.
By pressing the automatic takeoff button it shoots straight up and stops, hovering completely still. An extremely important feature as many beginners get stressed when they take off and tend to lose control of the drone within seconds. But this feature allows you to safely get up in the air and take a breath before doing anything else.
There’s an easy-control feature that lets you steer the drone by tilting your phone in any direction you want the drone to go, making it super intuitive and beginner friendly to fly while maintaining the orientation of the drone.
There’s even a feature to save you if you lose track of the drone. with a press of a button, it flies right back to its starting position so you never have to worry about flying out of sight.
After 15 minutes I remembered I started flying with a half-charged battery and immediately panicked. Since I had no visual of the drone it could just as well be dead.
But then I checked the display on my phone and saw that it conveniently shows how much battery is left, and it still had 20% battery!
This means that I can fly for a whole lot longer with a full charge!
This feature, the amazing battery life means you get more out of your drone, every single time you fly.
The Raptor 8K Drone is so lightweight while also having a superior battery capacity, meaning it can easily stay airborne twice as long as its competition on one single charge.
The incorporated gravity sensor can detect the ground and other obstacles & change the flying course automatically to avoid a collision, making a safe return or recovery possible with just a press of a button.
A big difference between cheap and expensive drones is the noise level. The Raptor 8K Drone is by far the most silent drone in its price class, it is almost as quiet as drones 5 times as expensive.
With such a sturdy and compact design that is easy to fold and put in your pocket, along with its superior battery life, you are always able to bring the Raptor 8K Drone with you.
The HD camera is impressive on its own, but with the pre-programmed camera modes, you will be able to capture every moment! With a press of a button, the drone can take slow-motion footage or do a full 360 capture of its environment, making it a perfect tool for exploration or visual inspection of any location.
I never thought I’d say it but I highly recommend this drone that doesn’t even cost $100. I even recommend this to highly experienced drone pilots as it has all the features you’d expect from an advanced drone.
So whether you’re a beginner or a pro and are on the lookout for a drone that has a great transmission range, a long battery time, HD camera footage, capable of high speed and agility as well as having all the safety and recovery features needed to fly in any situation, the Raptor 8K Drone is what you’re looking for.
The Raptor 8K Drone has ironically gotten so popular in the drone community that it has recently become quite hard to get a hold of one.
And if the manufacturer had a hard time keeping up with demand before, they will indeed have a hard time now since the founders just launched a 50% discount.
So as you can imagine, it’s a little irritating that I can’t get enough of these drones for my friends and family whom I want to start flying with me.
And what’s even worse is that some of my friends have accidentally bought fake copycat versions from companies that try to get in on the success of the Raptor 8K Drone.
So make sure to order from their official website to get the real deal!
If you’re still on the fence about it, we just want to let you know that the Raptor 8K Drone comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.
So if you’re not sure, you can always buy one and just return it later if you don’t like it.
